Discus care: water, food and tank mates
By Shan 1 min read
Discus are often described as difficult. In reality they are demanding of consistency rather than complexity.
Water
Keep the temperature at 28–31 °C and the pH between 6.0 and 7.0. Most importantly, keep it stable with large, regular water changes.
Food
Feed small meals two to four times a day: quality discus granules, frozen bloodworm and a beef-heart mix.
Tank mates
Choose calm, warm-water companions such as cardinal tetras and bristlenose plecos.
